'If I could change one thing'

Do just that, change one thing at a time!!!

Download tool click here- 'Current + Ideal Situations

Download the tool, print it out and work through the following exercise. This exercise encourages you to move gently from your current situation towards your ideal situation using small manageable tasks.

Don't try to change everything at once or you may get warn out. Focus on one goal, and then break it down into smaller, more manageable chunks to tackle. You will be one step closer to your goal if you do this.

The most important step to take is your first one, because if you don't take this one,             you will not even start to reach your goal.

Of course some things are outside of our control, but in terms of our lives, many people make the mistake of trying to change everything at once instead of focusing on each goal in term and then working towards these using smaller steps. As you know, you can't eat a pie in one go!

The way to approach coaching is to:

1) Firstly, identify a particular area of your life that needs attention (This is the theme).
Use the Life Wheel to help identify an area that needs attention.

2) Now that you have your life theme to work on, write down in detail your current situation in this area of your life. Be honest, even if it is not good. Don't forget, stick to one area of your life whilst doing this exercise. Just write it all down.
(There is something about writing things down, it helps us to clarify the situation more clearly).

3) Now imagine the ideal outcome. Ponder over this for a minute or two. Write down in detail how you would like the situation to turn out. Don't think about obstacles or limitations at this time, just right down the ideal situation.

4) You can now compare on paper your current situation with the ideal situation.
BY DOING THIS, YOU ARE ALREADY ONE STEP CLOSER TO YOUR GOAL! The challenge now is to work towards bridging the void between current situation and ideal situation. It's not that difficult when things are broken down into small steps. Already your mind will be starting to think about how you will move from point current situation to ideal situation.

5) The key now is to work towards the ideal situation by means of small steps. When crossing a great canyon via rope ladder, small gentle steps are the order of the day. (You don't want to lose your balance!) Don't try to do it all in one go, but use smaller, more manageable tasks to get from your current situation to your ideal. (We will cover this in more detail in the following sections). Many people avoid getting off the starting post because they try to tackle everything at once, and sometimes just end up going around in circles.

The most important step to take is your first one, because if you don't take this one,             you will not even start to reach your goal.

Believe it or not, you've already taken your first step towards your goal by working through this exercise! Well done! Now take another step towards the goal, no matter how small. If you are not sure which task to complete next, just pick anyone from your list, but make a start now.

Remember, once you have taken your first step, you are one step closer to reaching your goal. Knowing this will help build your confidence. Step out in faith, take that first step! (A marathon is not won by one gigantic step, it is won by many, many smaller steps, whilst focusing on the goal).
